By donating £200 to Baby Basics, a charity that helps parents in need of essential baby items. In addition to the generous financial donation, the team also dedicated time to volunteer at the charity’s Northampton branch, providing hands-on support to families with newborns.
Baby Basics, which has been serving the Northampton community for several years, provides vital items such as clothing, nappies, toiletries, and bedding to parents who are struggling, offering them a helping hand in those crucial early days of parenthood. The charity’s mission is to ensure that no baby goes without the necessities they need, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
In an effort to directly support the charity’s work, Nexus Fostering made the £200 donation, which will go towards the purchase of essential baby items. Nexus Fostering also organised a visit where their team members volunteered, helping pack and organise baby bundles, preparing them for families in need.
A Meaningful Impact
Leanne from Nexus Fostering shares “We’re incredibly proud to be able to support Baby Basics in Northampton and the work they do to support local families in Northampton. Our team which included foster carers enjoyed spending time volunteering and contributing to the charity’s mission of supporting new parents in challenging circumstances. It's so important that we all play our part in helping families who are struggling, and we are committed to continuing to support local initiatives like this one.”
The visit was an opportunity for Nexus Fostering to see first-hand how Baby Basics makes an incredible difference in the lives of families. Volunteers from the fostering agency worked alongside Baby Basics staff and volunteers to sort through donations, assemble baby baskets, and ensure that parents receive the items they need to care for their newborns.
A Collaborative Effort to Support Families
Baby Basics Northampton was grateful for the support from Nexus Fostering, with Gemma from the Charity expressing her appreciation: “We are so thankful for the generous donation and the time that Nexus Fostering has dedicated to volunteering with us. The need for our services continues to grow, and it's heartening to know that organisations like Nexus Fostering care so deeply about supporting families in their time of need.”
