Meet Xanthe- ADHD Coach

Xanthe a Practice Development Lead at Nexus Fostering. Offering ADHD coaching to our foster carers, young people and staff. Xanthe is a trained and accredited ADHD Coach (ADDCA) with a background in Social Work (2001) and courses in Systemic Practice.

My motivation to become an ADHD Coach was influenced by my own diagnosis in 2019 and the positive experience I had of ADHD coaching. It helped me realise the potential of ADHD, while also helping me find ways to navigate the difficult parts; strengthening my understanding into the ADHD brain and it needs to thrive. I understand the day to day impact that ADHD can have on a person and I am passionate about providing as many opportunities as possible to children and young people to help them harness the potential of the brains that they have.

ADHD Coaching

ADHD Group Coaching

The ADHD coaching group is a space in which foster carers can share their experiences about what it is like to care for a child or young person with ADHD. These sessions run three times a year and within the coaching programme there are six sessions.

The programme will provide an opportunity to look at ADHD through a more strength-based lens; empowering the experience of the child and young person while aiming to take the pressure of the foster carer/s.

ADHD Coaching One to One

A partnership approach, available to staff and foster carers, to help a person untangle some of the ADHD experiences in a collaborative and safe space. Helping create solutions, impacting positively on day to day experiences.

ADHD Family Coaching

Working directly with the child or young person and the family in an aim to help them develop a more positive relationship with ADHD, helping them feel more empowered and confident.

ADHD Parenting Coaching

If ADHD family coaching isn't right for the child or young person, parenting coaching can support foster carers to navigate some of the ADHD experiences independently from the child or young person.

Nexus Fostering aims to provide as many opportunities as possible for children and young people and their foster carers to explore ways to make the most out of the ADHD experience. Along with ADHD coaching from Xanthe, Nexus Fostering also offers our foster carers and young people access to ADHD training from 'How to make the most out of the ADHD brain' to bespoke training on request.
