'in need of a hug' - Blankets donated by Project Linus UK for children and young people

Project Linus UK donate blanket to our Cambridge office at Nexus Fostering.

Nexus Fostering receives blankets for children and young people kindly donated by Project Linus UK.

At Nexus Fostering, our children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. We understand many children come into foster care worried and unsettled and might have a fear of the unknown, so having something they can call their own is important to help them feel more comfortable and settled in their new home.

This July, our Cambridge office received handcrafted blankets from Sheila Walker at Project Linus UK. Their dedicated area coordinators organise sewing and distributing blankets across the UK to places where support is given to children and young people 'in need of a hug'. When we heard Sheila wanted to help by donating blankets for our children and young people, we were over the moon and very grateful for the kind offer.

The volunteers at Project Linus UK are truly inspiring. They spend weeks creating and making each individual blanket, dedicating their time to provide comfort to children and young people through their blankets. You can find out more about Project Linus UK and their fantastic work here. They have volunteers all over the country who can look at helping many organisations and charities.

At Nexus Fostering, our fostering agency is always looking at ways in which we can continue providing care and therapeutic support for our young people. We have many activities and events for everyone to enjoy throughout the year, along with the fostering households, children already living in the home and grandchildren!
