Emmanuel House’s breakfast service for the homeless in Nottingham

Megan and Jo from the recruitment and marketing team at Nexus Fostering recently volunteered at Emmanuel House in Nottingham. As part of the Breakfast Service team, they helped serve breakfast from toast, cereals, beans and hot drinks to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Emmanuel House provides crucial support services, offering not only a warm meal but also a sense of community and dignity for those in need. Megan and Jo, passionate about making a positive difference, were able to directly contribute to this vital work by offering their support during the morning rush.

Their day began early, getting the food prepared that is donated by local businesses and people, and continued with serving breakfast and hot drinks to those in need. It was an eye-opening experience for both, as they had the chance to interact with people from all walks of life, and it gave them a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the homeless.

Through this hands-on experience, Megan and Jo exemplified the spirit of kindness and compassion, and demonstrated how small acts of service can make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Their involvement with Emmanuel House is a reminder of how communities can come together to support those who are vulnerable and in need of a helping hand.

If you’re inspired by Megan and Jo’s efforts, consider volunteering with local organisations like Emmanuel House – every bit of help makes a difference.
