Andy and Julie - 15 Years Of Fostering

London foster carers celebrate 15 years fostering at nexus fostering

Andy and Julie have been foster carers for 15 years. What an incredible achievement! They admit fostering hasn't been without its challenges, but the rewards have been immense.

The couple shared with us:

'We started fostering with Nexus Fostering after having three children of our own, with our youngest being two. Initially, the children were with us on an emergency basis, but they stayed with us long-term. We were taking care of a sibling group of three, and we are now offering a staying-put arrangement and helping the siblings with their semi-independent living.

We then became guardians for another child, our second Special Guardianship Order, again supporting a sibling group of three. We now consider ourselves a family unit with 10 children/young adults!

Our birth children have all gone on to study Psychology, Biochemistry and Neuroscience due to experiences from being raised in a family that fosters.'
