Who we are
Since 2002, Nexus Fostering has been supporting vulnerable children and young people to experience safe, stable and nurturing family life.
We are an independent fostering agency committed to building strong relationships and delivering high standards of care. Our focus is simple: children thrive when carers feel confident, valued and well supported.
Operating through two Ofsted-registered services — Midlands & West and Home Counties & East — we combine strong local leadership with shared expertise and experience.
Our History
Nexus Fostering was founded in 2002 with a clear purpose: to provide high-quality fostering experiences where children and young people can enjoy family life and fulfil their potential.
In the years that followed, the organisation grew steadily through reputation and recommendation. Foster carers shared their positive experiences of the support they received, encouraging others to begin their fostering journey with Nexus Fostering.
Relationships have always been at the heart of our work — between staff and carers, carers and children, and children and the agency. We believe strong, respectful relationships are the foundation of successful fostering.
By 2022, continued growth led us to consider how we could maintain the personal approach that defined Nexus from the beginning. To protect that close working culture, we created two separate Ofsted registrations:
Each registration mirrors the other in services, standards and values, while being led by its own Registered Manager to ensure strong local leadership.
Today, the two services operate alongside one another, differing only in the geographical areas they cover. Specialist support services, matching teams and key administrative functions are shared, supported by a central Head Office serving both regions.
As we have grown and developed our structure, our focus has remained the same: strong relationships, high standards and consistent support for foster carers and children.

Our Values
Across all regions, our work is guided by clear and consistent values:
Strive for fostering excellence - At Nexus Fostering, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of fostering. We continuously work to improve our practices, ensuring that every child and young person in our care receives the best possible support. This commitment to excellence is reflected in our rigorous training programs, our comprehensive support systems, and our adherence to best practices in the fostering sector.
Giving carers exceptional support - Our foster carers and their children & young people are at the heart of what we do. To ensure they can provide the best care, we offer them exceptional support, including access to 24/7 assistance, regular training opportunities, and a strong network of fellow carers. This robust support system helps our carers feel confident and well-equipped to handle the challenges of fostering.
Enabling life-changing differences for vulnerable young people coming into care - Our ultimate goal is to make a profound, positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people who come into our care. By providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, we aim to help these young individuals heal, grow, and thrive, giving them the tools and confidence to build a brighter future.
Supporting Foster Carers
Choosing the right fostering agency is an important decision.
At Nexus Fostering, carers benefit from:
-
Comprehensive preparation and training
-
Ongoing learning and development
-
Regular supervision from an experienced social worker
-
24-hour support and advice
-
Access to specialist education and participation services
-
A local team who know them personally
We aim to provide consistent, relationship-based support so carers feel confident in the role they undertake.
Putting Children at the Centre
Children and young people are actively involved in shaping our service.
Through our Participation Team, Youth Panel and ambassador programme, they contribute to decision-making, design resources and even support staff recruitment.
We believe listening to children improves the quality of care we provide and strengthens the fostering experience for everyone involved.
