For the past decade, fostering has been John and Ali's commitment, and they have done a fantastic job as foster carers and shared with us how they have overcome the challenges through strong support and why they want to continue fostering for many more years to come.
'fostering at times has been challenging, but overall, it has been a privilege and a pleasure fostering children and offer children in our care a secure, loving home. When the going gets tough, we are motivated by the children and strive to provide them with what every child deserves: empathy and understanding shown in a spirit of goodwill and playfulness without judgment.
Some of our children have deep, hidden pain that all the love in the world may not be enough to heal. Thankfully, we have never been alone in tackling this; Nexus Fostering has supported us all the way with fostering training and immediate hands-on support when needed. We feel connected to our support network as we belong to one big foster family, desiring to heal children who have been through upsetting and traumatic circumstances, and we support them to develop and thrive both emotionally and physically.
We are proud to be foster carers, and despite some difficult times, our reward is in the smiles, laughter and ambitions of the children we care for. We do not have a single regret about our fostering journey and hope we can offer at least another ten years of caring for children.'
